In Memory of Frank Hudecek

The A.C.C. wishes to extend our sympathy to the Family and Friends of Frank Hudecek. He was an integral part of our League from it's beginning, and will be missed by all.
Frank left a lasting impression both on and off the field. His love for the sport was only overshadowed by his care and concern for the children who played it. Whether it was his teams kids or the opponents, they always came first.
He always went the extra mile for the League, most notably by by his Public Relations work, and his work every year organizing the Season Schedule for the Teams.
His legacy of caring went beyond just Junior Football. Before his retirement, he was employed by the NYC Police Department as a detective, and he was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
We will miss you, Frank!
Below are a few entries from the WHYFO Guestbook remembering Frank:

Today I just got
the info that this site was here. And it saddens me to find out that Frank has
passed away. I had the opportunity to work with Frank, he gave me the chance to do
what I did. I truly owe everything, all the memories, I have to Frank. I am glad
that this site is here and I will always be able to keep in touch with the
stingers families. God Bless you Frank.
Coach Bob

It may seem a little late but I just found this site, and I would like to say that
Frank was the best football coach I ever had he was strict yet loose he taught
us the basics of football and never got too fancy. Frank will be in my heart till
the day I die and I will never forget him, my most fond memory of frank was back
in 1997 when our stinger b-team won the NAJFL, SUPER BOWL, I looked at Frank and
could tell it was one of the most proud days of his life, the day I heard he had
passed I couldn't help but break down. So coach Hudecek I would like to say on
behalf of the b-team of '97 and myself you will be greatly missed and were like
a second father to most of us you were one of the greatest men i have and ever
will meet, so coach RIP and take it easy on the playas up there, with much
love Justin Stevens

I am sorry I could not be at the services for Frank, as I was in NY for work. I
remember the first time I met Frank, I was an fresh assistant B coach, my head
coach was not at the game, and I only had 11 players. After a long patient wait
on Franks part, he suggested we play 9 man ball. The ref's told us it was
against the reg's (at that time), and wouldn't go for it. He argued for both
teams that they were kids who came to play Football, and they should be allowed
to have their game. Well, we ultimately lost that fight and I had to forfeit.
Then, Frank promptly sent the refs to the concession stand, since the A-team
wasn't even there yet, and said " These kids came to play ball, so by God lets
play!" and we did. Had the first non-official 9-man game I can remember, and had
a blast doing it! The refs were fit to be tied! Now there's a man who loved the
kids as much as he loved the game. Godspeed Frank, I will never forget you! Phil

Our deepest of sympathies are extended to the Hudecek Family! I remember the
first time I spoke with Frank on the practice field; next thing you know, I was
the Concession Stand Mgr. I sincerely do not know what we will do without his
guidance this year but we (WHYFO) will carry on HIS mission -"Stingers - Future
Of The Hornets! May God Bless!
